My first week of Hello Fresh

Welcome back! That is what i am imagining you all saying right now as i continue the bloggers journey.

This month i decided our family needed something more than our go to recipes and for once i needed to not be making the choice of whats for dinner!

Welcome to Hello Fresh was the most wonderful email i received after taking the leap and removing the long drawn out decision making process that dinner time had become.

I was even more excited when the following week i heard the box land on my door step and scurried to see what was inside.

Hello Fresh Cold box!
Almost like Christmas!
Four recipe cards

It was fantastic, 99% of the food inside was in perfect condition, the 1% unfortunately being two cucumbers that were a little overripe and not edible.
Day one consisted of chicken noodle stir-fry with an amazingly flavourful marinate turned sauce.

This meal was super easy to cook and only took 25 mins between prepping and having it on plates. Only two of the kids wouldn't eat the veg, but they ate their fair share of the noodles which kept their tummies happy.
The second night we ate garlic chicken, mash potato and veggies. I admit, I used bacon wrapped around my chicken to keep it more moist since it was being placed in the oven and i didn't want it to dry out! Every member of the household ate this meal, it was soo loved that little miss 2 was asking for it for nearly a week after we ate it.
Day three of our trial we had these amazing steak and salad burgers. They had a beetroot relish and marinated steak that melted in our mouths. This was the first time all my kids had been given a whole piece of steak each, cut into strips and not a single piece was left when dinner came to an end. I was super impressed with this meal because it made my teen realise that steak is not a bad word. lol

I did not get around to taking a picture of night number four, but it was the least amazing of all the meals. It was a bacon and Parmesan risotto, but it came out fairly bland and did not look anywhere near as appetizing as the rest. It took lots of energy to get my kids to eat it all but im sure there is always going to be a meal that just doesn't stick.

Overall it was a very pleasant experience, and for the reduced price we got it at, $20 cheaper than normal, it was cost efficient, however until the price comes down again i probably would prefer to download the recipes from the Hello Fresh website and order the food from Coles..

Hope to see you all again soon for our next adventure!
